Civil authorities sign governance agreement

Civil authorities in the Yangtze River Delta region to cooperate in promoting grassroots management and governance and establish a think tank and demonstration zone.

Civil affairs authorities in Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday to promote grassroots management and governance in the Yangtze River Delta region. 

Under the agreement, civil authorities in the region will establish a coordination mechanism covering the sharing of grassroots governance resources, government procurement of service items, intelligent social governance platforms, community worker exchange, development of community-related social organizations and social work alliance, the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said. 

A think tank alliance on grassroots governance will be established in the region with a grassroots governance demonstration zone set up, the bureau said. 

Outstanding cases of social governance in the region will be released every year to share experiences and innovative practices. 

Civil affairs authorities in the region will also work together to lift the refined and intelligent governance level of the region. 

The agreement was signed in Huzhou in Zheijiang Province where a civil affairs forum of the Yangtze River Delta region was also held on Wednesday.
