Additional six cases of novel coronavirus were reported on Wednesday, including two Chinese passengers on the same flight from Russia on Friday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

So far, 66 people on that flight arriving in Shanghai have been confirmed infection.

Another three patients are two Chinese studying in the UK and one Chinese crew member of a cargo aircraft arriving at the Pudong International Airport on Saturday from Italy.

All the newly diagnosed patients have been sent to designated hospital for treatment, and their 114 close contacts on the airplanes have been put under quarantine and observation.

Another 36 imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

Meanwhile, 15 imported cases were discharged upon recovery on Wednesday, including eight from the UK, one from the US, one from Canada, one from Singapore, one from France, one from Italy, one from Burkina Faso and one from Ireland. One patient had been seriously sick and cured after treatment, the commission said.

So far, of all the 289 imported cases, 155 have been discharged upon recovery and 134 are hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday, when two patients, who were in critical condition, were discharged upon recovery.

Among the 339 local cases, 330 have been discharged upon recovery and two are hospitalized, both are seriously sick. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.
