Four COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai

Four new imported coronavirus cases were reported in the city on Thursday, while one imported patient from the UK was discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Friday morning.

The newly confirmed cases include one Chinese studying in the US, one Chinese working in Mexico and two Pakistanis.

The new patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 113 close contacts on the same planes with them have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 336 imported cases, 328 have been discharged upon recovery and eight are still hospitalized.

Another one imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Thursday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
