The third round of China-US Leading Scholars Dialogue was held in Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday via video link.

Up to 30 renowned Chinese and American scholars from different fields extensively discussed China-US relations during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they made frank exchanges during the dialogue.

Underlining the novel coronavirus as the greatest threat to mankind today, scholars attending the dialogue believed that China and the United States, the two major countries with great influence, should strengthen communication and coordination to benefit the people of both countries and the whole world.

The academic communities of the two countries should actively engage in dialogue and cooperation, and play constructive roles in promoting the healthy development of China-US relations through rational, objective and professional voices, said the scholars.

The scholars also called for sharing wisdom in order to win the battle against the pandemic and achieving higher-quality recovery through collaborative efforts.

The dialogue was jointly hosted by the Institute of American Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale University.
