The 12th Shanghai recreational vehicle show, to be held in Jiading District from August 28 to 30, is expected to attract over 100 brands with nearly 1,000 vehicles on display in an exhibition area of around 80,000 square meters.

Recreational vehicles which include living quarters are a relatively safe way to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, exhibition organizers said.

In the first half of the year, 110 manufacturers released 250 new recreational vehicle models on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, an increase of 37.4 percent year on year, according to data from the country's top industry regulator.

Exhibition organizers said that COVID-19 had affected the resumption of work and production earlier this year, and manufacturers had paid more attention to research and development of new products during this period.

The recreational vehicle market has achieved five consecutive months of sales growth after posting a decline in February. The positive momentum is expected to continue in August.

The exhibition is a platform for auto companies to display their latest products, as well as provide business opportunities for suppliers. It also enhances consumers' understanding of related products and culture.

A wide range of products will be showcased at this year's show, including recreational vehicles, trailers, off-road vehicles, pickup trucks, camping equipment and accessories.

Industry insiders will deliver speeches and discuss future trends. New recreational vehicle models will be released and test drives will be available.

Due to the pandemic, this year's exhibition has an online reservation system. Audiences need to make reservations, wear masks, show their ID cards, have their temperatures checked and show their health code before entering the exhibition center in Jiading District.
