The city honored 20 nurses ahead of International Nurse Day, which falls on Tuesday.
All of the nurses have long histories of working on the front line of clinical practice. Among them, seven have been working in Wuhan, the former epicenter of the novel coronavirus epidemic, said Shanghai Health Commission.
The winners were from candidates from local hospitals and underwent evaluation by district- and city-level health commissions and medical experts.
