Medical equipment fair opens in Shanghai

First international-level fair of its kind to be launched following the pandemic has attracted some 4,000 brands and over 100,000 professional visitors to the city.

The China International Medical Equipment Fair kicked off at the National Convention and Exhibition Center has attracting some 4,000 brands and over 100,000 professional visitors to Shanghai, the organizer said on Tuesday.

It is the first international-level medical equipment fair to be launched after the coronavirus pandemic, bringing both challenges and opportunities for the industry. 

In addition to an exhibition through Thursday, the organizers have invited some 300 officials, medical experts and industry insiders to launch around 60 forums and meetings to discuss the future development of the medical equipment industry.

Exhibition areas featuring sectors such as public health event prevention and control, medical imaging, in vitro diagnostics, operation room facilities and disinfection control at the fair showcase the health industry chain.

Some 30,000 high-tech products involving 5G, big data, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, medical robots and blockchain are being shown at the fair for the first time.
