Shanghai will open or begin building a batch of new cultural and sports facilities by the end of the year. They include the Expo Culture Park, east branches of the Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Library, the Xujiahui Sports Park and the Wanping Theater, as well as the Shanghai Orchestra music museum. These projects are expected to become new cultural landmarks in the city as well as address the increasing demand from residents for art performances, sports and exhibitions.
