Changning District

Changning District is in the west of downtown Shanghai. It is bridgehead linking Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta. Changning is “an important window” in the reform and opening-up of Shanghai. The Shanghai Hongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as a National Development Zone in 1986 — the only one in the mainland to develop tertiary industry. Changning is famous for its quality of life. The proportion of green space and the quality of the environment rank among the highest in the city.
