Pioneering the Utilization of AI and Other Technologies to Enable Precision Medicine

Besides services and products to general public, Philips digital imaging systems and connected informatics usher in the age of precision medicine.

Philips is an internationally recognized player in diagnostic imaging, backed by a range of diagnostic imaging products ranging from ultrasound to CT, MR, X-ray, PET/CT and DSA systems. Philips has been using its clinical insights to develop intelligent technology as part of its efforts to help radiologists. The ultimate goal is to allow radiologists a high-quality image in one scan, offering simplified and accurate diagnostic pathways, even in extremely challenging circumstances involving complicated cases.

At Philips’ booth, visitors can experience its digital imaging systems, AI-based software and services that are intended to improve image quality, streamline workflows, enable seamless healthcare and enhance patient experience. They include the world’s first spectral detector CT IQon CT, the Ingenia CX MR system, the digital PET/CT Vereos, as well as other advanced ultrasound devices and systems such as EIPQ7 and CX50.

Philips also focuses on cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and oncological diseases to develop connected and AI-based integrated disease-specific solutions in China.

Based on “pain points” and the needs of China’s health care system, Philips has been building research and business partnerships with local hospitals, professional associations, research institutes, innovative companies and other stakeholders, to provide chest pain centers, stroke centers and oncology centers at all levels with integrated disease-specific solutions that cover the entire life cycle.

AI itself is not a solution across the health continuum, but instead a set of methods for developing solutions. The most important feature is the efficient calculation and accurate analysis and decision-making, transforming “data” into “insight” so that clinicians, hospital administrators, patients and health professionals can achieve better health outcomes at lower cost.
