Shanghai’s gross domestic product expanded 6 percent year on year in the first three quarters to 2.53 trillion yuan (US$360 billion), according to the Shanghai Statistics Bureau.
Growth ticked up 0.1 percentage point from the first half, led by the services industry, which increased 8.9 percent in the January-September period.
Manufacturing sector value dropped 1.1 percent during the period and the agricultural sector declined 4.3 percent.
