On Thursday night, today’s great scientists such as organic chemist Dai Lixin and hematologist and molecular biologist Chen Saijuan, had the chance to “meet” some who inspired them.
Through holographic projection, Albert Einstein appeared on the stage.
Einstein passionately displayed the formulas that explained mysteries of the universe. And beside him, students from Shanghai Conservatory of Music played Einstein's favorite Mozart violin sonata —— Violin Sonata in B flat.
Missile and space scientist Qian Xuesen loved listening to Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” in his late life. So, a video displaying his life and achievements was accompanied by a performance by students from the Music College of Shanghai Normal University.
Li Siguang, widely known as the founder of China's geomechanics, was also a musical genius. He composed China’s first piece of violin music, and his work was performed on Thursday night together with a video about his life.
Soprano Huang Ying, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and storyteller Liu Juan also performed.
