Star-studded police drama to air on Youku

The suspense cop drama “Pingxing Mitu,” or “Parallel Paths,” will start airing on Youku next Tuesday.

The 18-episode series, starring Yan Meng and Li Yue, is centered on a major anti-narcotics operation by law enforcement. Two young cops face unprecedented challenges of brotherhood, faith and love when fighting with powerful criminals.

Yan, son of comedy actors Yan Guangming and Zhao Haiyan, plays the leading role of a devoted and outgoing cop.

Li, who plays an undercover cop, said that he had to portray delicate emotional changes in his character. 

Lu Ting and Xu Jiaqi, members of girl bands SNH48 and THE9, also star in the series. 

Lu said that she spent a lot of time learning from veteran actors and books on performing arts before the shooting started.
