Food courier and passerby smash car windows to save trapped driver

A food delivery man and a passerby in Hefei, Anhui Province smashed the windows of a car engulfed in flames to save the trapped driver last week.

The incident happened on December 18 when the driver accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to lose control and hit a car as well as two motorcycles in front of it.

The car soon caught fire, trapping the driver inside.

A food courier and a pedestrian who were passing by during the incident immediately smashed the car's windows to rescue the driver.

The two persons on the motorcycles were injured in the pileup which involved three cars, a taxi and two motorcycles.

Police are investigating further.
