Two auxiliary police officers in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, raced against time to carry a fainted woman to hospital recently, Knews reported.

A 54-year-old female passenger, surnamed Du, suddenly fainted on a bus at around 9am.

The bus driver stopped the vehicle and asked police on duty at the roadside for help.

As the incident happened during rush hour, an ambulance would have taken a long time to arrive on scene. The two auxiliary police officers immediately decided to carry the woman to hospital themselves.

They ran to hospital with one carrying the woman on his back while the other took the woman's belongings.

Luckily, the nearest hospital was just 600 meters away so they arrived within about 5 minutes.

Thanks to their timely rescue, Du has recovered and left hospital soon after treatment.
