Shanghai university to assist Guizhou in education development and poverty alleviation

East China Normal University signed a strategic partnership agreement on Wednesday with the government of Guizhou Province to carry out cooperation in educational reform, cooperative education programs and talent cultivation, and to help the province alleviate poverty.

Meanwhile, it also signed cooperation agreements with the government of Zunyi City and Guizhou University.

According to the agreements, the university will provide consultation and intellectual support to help the province make decisions on economic and social development based on research and surveys.

In terms of comprehensive education reform, the university will give full play to its disciplinary advantages to help Guizhou explore new education modes, such as new educational approaches using big data.

The two sides will jointly set up an educational experiment park in Zunyi City, which will mainly focus on the establishment of quality high schools in the city. It will also cover education from kindergarten to middle school and build up training facilities for teachers.

East China Normal University will also assist schools in Guizhou in training teachers, principals and other administrators with modern management concepts and will launch various cooperation programs for undergraduates and post graduates.
