Steinway Hall Shanghai opened on Sunday to offer local music enthusiasts a platform for art exchange, master classes and live performances.
Covering an area of 500 square meters, Steinway Hall Shanghai displays a series of classic pianos and showcases technical advances in piano-making as well.
The Steinway Spirio, a new high-resolution player piano system, is also exhibited. The system is capable of live performance capture and playback.
German pianist Gina Alice, wife of Chinese pianist Lang Lang, also attended the opening. She performed the Chinese folk song “Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon” and her own original pieces.
