Wei Minzhou, a former senior legislator in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of accepting bribes.
The arrest was made by the people's procuratorate in central China's Hunan Province, authorized by the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
Wei had been vice head of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee since January 2017.
