China to build Guangdong's Hengqin District into international tourism island

China's National Development and Reform Commission recently unveiled the Construction Plan for Hengqin International Recreation Island. According to the plan, China will develop the Hengqin District in southern Guangdong Province into an international tourism island in its efforts to further integrate the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
