No casualties have been reported so far after two earthquakes, measuring 4.9 and 4.5 respectively on the Richter scale, hit the coastal waters of Hualien County, eastern Taiwan on Tuesday.

Tremors were felt in many parts of Taiwan when the earthquakes hit.

A 4.9-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off Hualien at 9:19am, followed by a 4.5-magnitude earthquake 12 minutes later, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

Hualien was hit by two earthquakes on Sunday.
