The 2018 Skoda Heros series has eight legs, with four of them scheduled in Shanghai.

The Skoda Heros China Cycling Series held its opening race of 2018 in suburban Jiading District’s Waigang Town over the weekend.

Jointly organized by the Shanghai Sports Bureau, the Shanghai Sports Federation and Waigang Town government, the event attracted nearly 600 cyclists from home and abroad. The cyclists circled along a 3.2-kilometer track in six categories of competitions — elite group, women’s group, Under 25, U35, masters and high-school men’s groups.

Xia Wei from the Cronus Tropix team won the 38.4km elite group race clocking 53 minutes, 12 seconds. Roval Racing team’s Cameron Mac Queen and Timothy Robin Wilcox finished one-two in the 32km masters group race, clocking 46:42 and 46:51, respectively.

The race is also part of the 2018 Shanghai Citizen’s Amateur League. This year’s Skoda Heros series has eight legs with four of them scheduled in Shanghai. The series will also visit the Yellow Mountain in Anhui Province and the Thousand Islands Lake in Hangzhou’s Chun’an County.
