College students have taken advantage of the recent torrential downpour with a spot of fishing.

The heavy rain has wreaked havoc in several of China’s regions recently and last Sunday flooded Yanshan campus, of Guangxi Normal University in Guilin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The consequences of the deluge meant students were unable to sit some of their major examinations.

Exam disappointment turns to fishing joy for college students

Far from being disappointed, by the inclement weather, scholars got their nets and fishing rods out and took to the water for a spot of fishing.

Several different types of fish were caught, including crayfish, and even snake was fished from the flooded ponds and nearby reservoirs, all of which ended up as a tasty dish when pan-fired.

Students at Hunan University of Science and Technology, faced a similar situation and embraced the weather to go fishing. Scholars from Hunan, however, held fish they caught in water basin at dormitory until ready for further cooking.
