Shanghai woman slaps man for alleged inappropriate touching on Metro

A Shanghai woman is making headlines for slapping a man who allegedly touched her inappropriately on Metro Line 11 on Wednesday.

The woman believed a middle-aged man sitting beside her was deliberately rubbing against her body and even accused him of stretching his hand out to touch her thigh and arm.

She couldn't endure any more so stood up and began to take a video in which she can be heard angrily rebuking the man for his alleged indecent behavior.

"What are you doing? Why did you keep rubbing against me? ... Aren't you ashamed of yourself?!" While yelling at the man, the woman slapped him across the face several times.

The man denied it at first but later said "sorry".

The woman, who is a Muay Thai amateur, said she always struck back whenever she met with such incidents.

As she didn't capture any evidence of her being inappropriately touched, she didn't report the matter to police.

While most netizens remarked that she did a good job, some web users pointed out that it was inappropriate to hit the man like that.

Someone commented,"Capturing video to expose or interrogate are both okay, but she shouldn't hit him like that — she should call police instead." Some people even thought it might be a misunderstanding, with one netizen saying, "An introverted person might be frightened on such an occasion and might not dare to defend their innocence."
