Police escort 90-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer home late at night
Policemen in Shanghai drove slowly beside a reluctant 90-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer to make sure she got home safely after she refused a ride.
A passerby called police after she found an old woman walking alone on Wanghangdu Road late at night and thought she was lost. Police soon arrived and recognized the old woman since she lives by herself next to the police station.
The police said the old woman often walked alone at night and easily getting lost due to her condition. She memorized her mother's old address clearly, though, and said she was on the way to see her.
The old woman refused an offer from police to drive her back home and insisted on walking alone.
Feeling concerned for her safety, police followed her slowly until she arrived home, safe and sound, about twenty minutes later.
