Woman glued to phone doesn't look where she is walking – gets hit by car

The woman mistakenly walked into a car lift at a hospital in Nanjing because she was too busy looking at her phone to watch where she was going.

A woman suffered a broken ankle after being crushed by a car when she walked into a car lift while looking at her mobile phone instead of watching where she was going.

The incident happened in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, on December 6.

Security footage shows the woman walking into the car lift as a car exits at the Jiangsu People’s Hospital.

The car lift takes her down to the basement, where another car enters and hits her.

A garage technician surnamed Yu said the woman may have thought she was taking a short cut to see a doctor in the hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
