Old woman embarks on travel adventure after selling house

A 88-year-old woman from Hangzhou city in Zhejiang Province has gone viral after wowing the internet with her energy and vigour after embarking on a traveling adventure, according to Hangzhou TV Station.

The woman, Jiang Bin, started her adventure after she retired in 2009. She sold her house in 2017 and used the funds to travel.

She has traveled to dozens of countries within the last 10 years, with South Africa being the furthest away. It took her 18 hours to arrive there by plane.

Jiang has begun using a smart phone in the past two years and mastered online chatting, shopping and taxi hailing apps. Most of the taxi drivers who went to pick her up thought there might be someone else helping her to call the cab.

She is also clued up on Internet buzzwords such as “little fresh meat," which refers to good-looking young guys.

Jiang currently lives at an apartment for the elderly, waiting for her next adventure. 

Li Yufan, a staff member at the apartment, said Jiang often gives them advice on event organization. 

"She's young at heart," Li said.
