Passers-by save boy being swept away in storm drain
A group of passers-by in east China helped save an 11-year-old boy who was drawn into a fast-flowing drainage channel amid heavy rain, China Central Television reported.
As security video showed, the boy suddenly fell into a drainage channel by the roadside when he was on his way to take an umbrella to a family member at around 3pm on April 30. He was soon caught in the fast moving current of the storm drain in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province.
A black car was then seen stopping by the roadside before the two occupants quickly got out to try and rescue the boy.
Villagers nearby noticed the situation and rushed to the scene to help as well. They ran after the boy as he was being swept away and were finally able to pull him free.
The boy suffered no injuries in the incident.
