DIY injections are dangerous and may be life-threatening.

A woman from central China’s Hunan Province has been under emergency treatment at an ICU for five days after injecting herself with mixed fruit juice in an effort to keep healthy, Hangzhou Daily reported.

The woman surnamed Zeng from Chenzhou City, put 20 kinds of fruit into a juicer and prepared an intravenous infusion by herself in a whim after simple filtration at home on February 22. She thought fresh fruit was rich in nutrients and could certainly benefit her body, the report said.

Zeng felt itchy and her body temperature rose after the injection. Her husband sent her to the hospital after detecting the strange situation.
