Center puts exhaust systems to the test
Innovative acoustic testing room
Eberspaecher, a leader in the development and manufacture of exhaust technology, has opened a new exhaust technology test facility in Jiading.
The Asia Test Center will enable the company to showcase its testing expertise as well as its prototype operations to the Asia-Pacific off-highway industry.
In an area of 3,800 square meters, the new test center houses a prototype shop and capacity to test exhaust systems from material and component level to system level for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Dr York Zhao, the company’s vice president, highlighted the wide range of testing features: “This new center offers us the opportunity to develop and validate exhaust systems under customer specific conditions and in a much faster time.
Besides the technologies for future emission standards, low noise and high sound quality of exhaust systems are the subject of growing customer demand in the Asian market. The semi-anechoic room utilizes a room-in-room concept solution with an ultralow background noise level of 25 dBA .
The test center is directly attached to the existing Eberspaecher site in Jiading, where over 400 employees are engaged in developing and manufacturing exhaust systems.
