Shell launches digital platform in China to boost lubricant business

British-Dutch multinational oil and gas company Shell launched a digital platform in Hangzhou to boost its lubricant business, it told Shanghai Daily.

British-Dutch multinational oil and gas company Shell launched a digital platform in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, to upgrade its lubricant business in an era demanding smarter technology and more digitization.

The platform, named Lube Master, is aimed at connecting machines using Shell’s lubricant and predicting maintenance required according to a machine's condition.

Shell did not unveil how many machines are included in the platform, but said it aims to cover 20,000 customers and 200,000 machines by 2022.
