Focus on poverty and inequality

An international symposium named "No one left behind: Trackling poverty and inequality in Asia and around the world under the 2030 Agenda" was held today in Shanghai.

The two-day event, organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Shanghai Representative Office and the Institute of World Economy at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, invited elite scholars from home and abroad to share their opinions on how to deal with poverty and inequality.

 The discussed topics including the relationship between poverty and unequal income distribution, inequality within and between countries, and strengths and weakness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework.
