Young performers of traditional Chinese operas will display their martial arts stunts at the Shanghai Great World from October 5 to 11.

Around 100 artists of Kunqu, Huju, Yueju and Huaiju operas will showcase their martial arts stunts featuring long costume sleeves and fans, which are often seen in the ancient Chinese art.

The young performers will stage classic theater excerpts of “The Leifeng Pagoda,” “The Spider Cave” and “Nine-dragon Cup.”

Before each of the performances, experts will be invited to give comments on their acting and introduce the charm of martial arts to audience.

According to Gu Haohao, president of the Shanghai Center of Chinese Operas, young performers will be given a wider platform to display their talents.
