Search for cruise ship passenger overboard

A 45-year-old Chinese man jumped into the sea from the luxury cruise liner Majestic Princess out of Shanghai on Wednesday night. 

The cruise ship was about 60 nautical miles from Jeju Island, South Korea, when the incident occurred at around 7:48pm Beijing time, according to Princess Cruises. 

The wife of the man alerted the crew, and security camera also captured the incident.

The ship changed course and carried out a search.

Two lifeboats were launched and five other ships joined in the rescue efforts.

Japanese and South Korean coast guards have coordinating the search.

The ship has arrived in Nagasaki, Japan. It left Shanghai on Tuesday and is scheduled to return Shanghai on Saturday.
