Work begins on TCM hospital facility
Work began on a branch of the Longhua Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in the Pudong New Area's Hangtou Town on Monday.
The new branch with 500 beds, covering 76,550 square meters and costing 839 million yuan (US$120 million) will be completed in December, 2022, the hospital said.
The facility will offer outpatient, emergency and hospitalization services. Targeting a comprehensive service for complicated diseases and cancer prevention, the facility will employ a combination of TCM and Western medicine as well as carry out clinical research.
A trauma center and Intensive care unit will be established to offer timely, high-quality services and improve regional first aid capabilities.
A ground-breaking ceremony took place on the site for the new facility on Monday.
