Markets get all clear for coronavirus from Health Commission

All samples collected from markets in the city so far have been free of coronavirus infection, the Shanghai Health Commission has announced.

City and district-level centers for disease control and prevention staff visited 954 key venues including wet markets, large supermarkets, wholesale markets, online businesses and refrigeration houses from August 1 to 13. They collected 11,289 samples including aquatic and meat samples, as well as environmental and water samples, plus staff tests.

All were negative to coronavirus.

So far, the authorities have visited 1,854 key venues and collected 47,911 samples. All were negative to coronavirus, the commission said.
