An arson suspect who was alleged to have set fire to a KTV bar in Qingyuan, south China's Guangdong Province, killing 18 and injuring five early Tuesday morning, has been captured by police, local police said.

Police had offered a reward of 200,000 yuan (US$31,676) for information leading to the arrest of Liu Chunlu, 32, a native of Yingde City, Guangdong, according to local police.

Liu is alleged to have had a fight on Monday evening before using his motorcycle to block the only exit of the KTV bar and setting it on fire, according to a China Central Television report.

Liu suffered burns to his hips.

Police received a report about the fire on Chayuan Road at 12:30am. The fire was finally put out around 12:55am, local police said.
