Munich's Oktoberfest, one of the world's most prestigious beer festivals, will kick off its latest China tour next month in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province.

The festival, which will run from August 10 to 25, has been authorized by the Munich Government of Germany to bring the original German beer culture to residents in Kunming, according to organizers.

The festival will be held under a 4,000-square-meter blue-and-white canopy that will be set up in the original Bavarian style, with many wooden decorations. It can accommodate about 3,000 people at the same time.

Oktoberfest offers not only authentic German beer but also classic German foods such as pork knuckle and Munich white sausage. The resident band of the festival will also be invited to perform live.

Beginning in 1810, Oktoberfest attracts more than 7 million people every year.
