Chinese national political advisors met Tuesday to discuss problems in the pollution control work and offer suggestions to correct them.

Wang Yang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the plenary meeting of the third session of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

A total of 14 members of the CPPCC National Committee and its Standing Committee addressed the meeting, underlining the complete implementation of the policies made by the Communist Party of China Central Committee on pollution prevention and control, according to a statement issued after the meeting.

Political advisors highlighted several important issues regarding pollution control, including long-term environmental inspections, legislation on natural reserves, capacity building of local environmental law enforcement agencies, comprehensive conservation of mountains, water resources, forests, farmland and grassland, improvement of awareness among rural residents, and eco-friendly development of the power supply sector, according to the statement.
