Former deputy mayor of China's Xi'an under investigation

Qiang Xiao'an, former deputy mayor of Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, is being investigated for alleged serious violations of discipline and law.

Qiang Xiao'an, former deputy mayor of Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, is being investigated for alleged serious violations of discipline and law.

The information was released Friday by the Shaanxi provincial commission for discipline inspection of the Communist Party of China and the provincial supervisory commission.

Qiang, born in 1964, is a native of Xi'an.

He was appointed deputy mayor of Xi'an in February 2017 and was removed from his post in April 2020.
