ABS PROJECTM AMG GT3 team has named its driver squad for the 2019 China Endurance Championship in Shanghai after finding a new local sponsor.

Malaysian champion driver Melvin Moh and Chinese driver Han Songting will be representing PROJECTM AMG team in this year’s competition. The team also announced Shanghai-based Applied Brand Solutions (ABS) as its new sponsor this season, and unveiled its race vehicle at the Mercedes me store in Shanghai this week.

Now in its second year, the China Endurance Championship will have five stages in 2019 – Ningbo, Zhejiang Province (May 18-19), Tianjin (July 27-28), Shanghai (August 31-September 1), Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province (October 26-27) and Wuhan, Hubei Province (December). This will be the first time for Tianjin and Shaoxing to host the event.

Thomas Erb, head of Mercedes-AMG China, told Shanghai Daily that Mercedes-AMG is planning to open a brand experience center in neighboring Zhejiang Province this year. Motor fans will be able to get a closer look at AMG GT vehicles, learn more about motor racing and even experience the feeling of sitting behind the wheel of a race car.
