Teacher and student classtime slap-off stuns the Internet

A video of a female teacher and a male student slapping each other with other students sitting next to them in class has gone viral.

As the 30-second video shows, the two are having an argument, and the boy tells the teacher that it is none of her business. The teacher becomes irritated and slaps the boy across the face — the student slaps her back without hesitation.

The school where the pair belong has not been disclosed by any media yet.

The video has sparked heated discussion on the Internet. Some netizens supported the teacher’s act and said the boy might thank the teacher many years later and that it was the teacher’s responsibility to discipline him instead of letting him go.

Other netizens said teachers and students were equal and the teacher had no right to physically punish students. Beating students in class will bring negative mental impact on them, they said.

Further comments said both parties were at fault. It was improper for the teacher to attack first and the boy’s counter-blow was also "bitterly disappointing".
