A man in Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, tripped over some fleeing suspects, helping a policeman to capture them.

A patrolling policeman discovered two suspicious-looking men right after they stole an iPhone from a woman who was cycling on the road. They began running before the policeman stepped forward to question them.

Then a citizen, surnamed Liu, who was eating at the roadside, stretched out his leg to trip them over while the policeman was in hot pursuit. The policeman soon gained control after the suspects tumbled to the ground.

The two suspects have been detained by police, with Liu declining a material reward they offered him.
