Firefighters use 'jaws of life' to release boy stuck in tree

A teenage boy got his left leg stuck while trying to climb up a tree in Fuyang of Anhui Province on June 4, thepaper.cn reported.

The boy was in pain as he hung from the tree, so his friend stood in and held him up so that the pressure would be relieved for more than half an hour until fire fighters arrived on scene.

Firefighters use the "jaws of life" to pry open the gap between the two branches, finally allowing the boy's leg to be released.

The boy only suffered slight scratches in the incident, and netizens commented that he should thank his friend for what could have been a more painful experience.

According to video footage of the incident, the tree was also unharmed.
