A bus driver in Jinan, capital of east China’s Shandong Province, voluntarily drove two penniless junior students back to their school for free after he finished work on October 27, thepaper.cn reported.

As security footage showed, the duo walked over to the side of the driver's seat several stops after they got on the bus around 7pm.

According to the driver, Gao Changjun, they asked how far the bus was from Shandong Modern University. They fell silent after Gao told them the university was located about 15 kilometers from the bus terminal.

Gao learned from their talk that the two 15-year-old junior high school students planned to get to school on foot from the terminal as they had run out of money and their cell phones were out of power. Gao, the father of a 15-year-old teenager himself, decided to take them by bus, the report said.

Gao said that safety is a priority and that he felt relieved helping the students get to their destination safely.
