Shanghai shares end above 3,300 points

Shanghai shares ended higher today, helped by strong gains in consumer and airline counters.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended 0.68 percent higher at 3,303.04 points to remain above the 3,300 level.

Air China surged 9.63 percent to 11.27 yuan and China Southern Airlines went up 6.98 percent to 11.19 yuan.

Consumer shares also rose, with Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co up 3.76 percent to 31.7 yuan and Qingdao Haier Co adding 4.79 percent.

Circuit and chip makers were also in the spotlight with investors pushing up Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co by the daily limit of 10 percent while Shanghai Belling Corp jumped 6.68 percent to 16.94 yuan.
