Honor, a consumer electronics brand from Huawei targeted at young buyers, continues to maintain "stable growth" despite slumping sales in the overall market, Shanghai Daily learned from company sources on Friday.

In 2018, 398 million smartphones were sold in China, down 10.5 percent from a year earlier, according to figures from International Data Corp.

The brand's newest products include the Honor 20i, which features a 32-mega-pixel selfie camera and AI features. The phone targets the 1,500 and 2,000 yuan (US$299) market segment, a price range which covers millions of potential buyers in China.

The Honor 20i and Honor’s new MagicBook laptop started sales through online channels on Thursday.

In a previous interview, brand president Zhao Ming expected Honor’s overseas sales growth to double in 2019.
