Chinese developers attended the 2019 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, one of the world’s most influential software events on Tuesday.

More than 5,000 people from 86 countries and regions attended the event, including about 300 Chinese developers and 60 journalists, according to Apple.

Among them was Yang Jingsheng, vice president of qingting.fm, a Shanghai-based online radio startup.

Apple’s new streaming API will help Apple and developers build a more open and accessible music and radio ecosystem,Yang said. The services will involve more devices, especially in the 5G era, covering the Siri, Apple Watch, Carplay and HomePod sectors, Yang said.

Qingting, which has more than 450 million users and covers 1,500 radio stations, will update its app immediately after the new iOS system is released.

Meanwhile, 30 students from China were awarded Apple scholarships in a project which allows over 13-year-olds to apply, offering them tickets to the conference and related training from Apple.
