Photo exhibit captures Hong Kong's beauty, traditions
Forty award-winning National Geographic photos depicting spectacular scenes in Hong Kong are now on display at the Kerry Center shopping mall in Hangzhou.
"I hope the exhibition offers an opportunity for the public to learn more about Hong Kong,” said Chen Weiqiang, vice mayor of Hangzhou.
“Exchanges between the two cities have accelerated in the past 10 years, especially in the trade field. Hong Kong companies have injected investment in Hangzhou, and our local manufacturing and service industries serve Hong Kong in return."
The exhibited photos are divided into three sections: natural landscape, daily life and urban glamor.
“No matter where you live in Hong Kong, you can arrive at the nearest hill within 30 minutes’ drive. Therefore, we selected pictures that showcase a charming city integrated with concrete jungles and natural views,” said Bill Yang, marketing manager of National Geographic in Hong Kong.
The images of daily life in Hong Kong are equally stunning. Some document the struggles of Hong Kong locals to achieve success through hard work, while others show well-preserved traditions that continue to thrive amidst the city’s fast-paced life.
