Converted warehouse hosts touring art exhibition

The former Minghua Sugar Warehouse, originally built in 1924 and recently converted into an exhibition venue, is currently hosting the third stop of the 10th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts.

The touring show includes contributions of traditional artworks from Chinese, Japanese, American, Australian, Iranian, Romanian and Hungarian artists.

Hu Muqing, vice director of the Shanghai Art Collection Museum, said the annual exhibition has received strong support from nearly 50 countries and regions in the past decade.

The exhibition at the Minghua Sugar Warehouse features nearly 50 overseas works plus 50 Chinese artworks including paper-cuts, fabric paintings and dough sculptures.

Visitors can also see fine-patterned carpets, bronze carvings, exquisite Tunisian fabrics and Ukrainian jewelry.
