Chinese pop singer Ding Wei, a judge of the original children’s talent show "Pianists of the Future," recently held a music camp in Shanghai with 30 kids.

The show, to debut on iQIYI on October 12, will discover talented children who have a passion for piano. Winners will also have the opportunity to hold a concert in collaboration with a symphony orchestra.

Ding, who has written many scores for films and TV series in recent years, is taking on her new challenge as a mentor for children.

In the camp she shared her experience of stage performance and music creation with them.

“For these children, learning piano is not merely to become a professional pianist one day, but it is a rewarding experience for them to find where their values and interests lie,” Ding said.

On September 19, Ding will host a concert in Beijing. The concert will feature original songs from various phases of her quarter century career.
